Michael Laplante Adair, 85, of Murfreesboro, TN, passed away peacefully on April 8, 2024, at his home surrounded by his loving family. He was born on December 8, 1938, in Indianapolis, IN, to the late Kenneth and Zola Adair. Michael was predeceased by his first wife, Marilyn Williams Adair, and their two sons, Michael Jr. Adair and Mark Adair, daughter-in-law Kelly Adair, and extended daughter Tammi Powell Daigle. Michael is survived by his devoted wife, Lois Adair, his daughter Alice Adair Blackwell and sonin- law, David Blackwell, his daughter-in-law Lisa Adair; eleven cherished grandchildren, Katelin and Antonio Hodge, Kenneth and Jessica Adair, Abbey Adair, Ryan and Marissa Adair, Connor Adair, Matthew Blackwell, Will Blackwell, Grace Blackwell, and two adored great-grandchildren, Dezmond Hodge and Lillian Hodge. Michael is also survived by his extended family, daughter Holley Powell Rilko, son-in-law Eric Rilko, son Brent Powell and daughter-in-law Tina Powell, and grandchildren Ian Rilko and Aiden Rilko. Michael earned his engineering degree from Purdue University, a testament to his diverse talents and passions. Specializing as a moving engineer, he relocated homes, bridges, water towers, and historical landmarks worldwide. In 1969, he brought Laplant Adair Engineer Moving Company to Florida, where he proudly welcomed his sons, Mark and Mike, to join him in leading the industry. Beyond his professional endeavors, Michael had a deep love for music. He often spent his time building high-fidelity equipment, being an avid photographer, and collecting Lionel Trains. He possessed an innate talent for playing the piano by ear, bringing joy to those around him with his melodies. Michael's faith and family were pillars of his life. He was an active member of First Presbyterian Church of Boynton Beach and New Covenant Church of Pompano Beach, where he served as a dedicated deacon and elder. Michael found fulfillment in teaching life groups, counseling couples, and singing in the church choir. Beyond his church commitments, he cherished moments with his beloved family, delighting in his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. A celebration of Michael's life service will be held June 8, 2024, at 10:30 a.m. at First Baptist Church of Stuart, FL (201 SW Ocean Blvd. Stuart, FL.), where friends and family will gather to honor his memory and share stories of his remarkable life. Michael will be dearly missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him, but his legacy of love, kindness, and unwavering faith will continue to inspire those whose lives he touched.
